Plans for the Future

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

I know 2012 will be full of new experiences for me. I plan on starting gymnastics, enrolling in more college classes, and, hopefully, taking a trip to Yellowstone.  I'm excited about doing these things, but  God might exchange my plans for His. Have you ever heard of Spud Alford? He was training for the Olympics when a doctor found a tumor on his chest. As a result of that tumor, a pastor wanted to pray for him. The next CT scan didn't show ANY signs of the tumor. As he was driving home from the hospital, he saw someone singing and preaching on their lawn. That "someone" was Rice Brooks. At that moment, Spud Alford accepted Jesus into his heart. Even though Spud planned on going to the Olympics, God had a better plan.

Renewal: A Good Start to a New Year

You know that feeling you get after summer camp, or a revival at church? Don't you wish you could  feel that way all the time? I do. But, I know salvation isn't based on what I feel. Based on this fact, we should still yearn to be closer to God, with or without feeling "holy."

Psalm 51:21
Restore to me the joy of salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Why this Blog is Here

I started this blog for two reasons: to hold myself accountable for devotions, and, maybe, impact someone's life for the better. Enjoy! ><>
